The Nuclear Safety Commission is at a pivotal point of responding to nuclear accidents and radiological emergency in Taiwan. The Nuclear Security and Emergency Response Office is assigned to integrate and coordinate radiological emergency response mechanisms for relevant agencies (institutions), supervise the emergency preparedness and response within nuclear power plants and conduct the offsite nuclear emergency exercise with local governments, ensure the completeness of emergency response preparedness, and help local governments strengthen their ability of radiological incidents prevention, protection and emergency response, for ensuring the public’s safety.
