The Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) is a designated area to be used for the anticipatory protective actions for the public in case of an accident. The size of the zone is related to the type of nuclear reactor, the size of the population near the power plant, and the topography and the meteorological conditions. Based on various international standards with regard to radiation protection for the public, the EPZ is designated to be an area of a radius of 8 km surrounding the reactor for our 3 nuclear power plants. Within the EPZ, it is required that the preparedness activities should be performed on a continuous basis.
