After completing the tabletop exercises on August 1st, the full-scale participation exercise will be held from September 10th to 11th at the Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant and surrounding areas. The scenario includes power loss at the plant, followed by multiple natural disasters involving heavy rainfall and earthquakes, leading to an isolated area situation. Various organizations will participate in the exercise, including the New Taipei City Government, the Ministry of National Defense, the Radiation Monitoring Center, Taiwan Power Company, the Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant. The goal is to comprehensively enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

On September 10th, the exercise will focus on the on-site activities within the Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant, including ensuring multiple and diversified sources of water and electricity within the plant. The exercise will also involve pumping water into the spent fuel pool, taking into account the situation in 2024 Noto Peninsula incident.

On September 11th, the exercise will extend to the areas surrounding the Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant. Drills will involve isolated area transportation of supplies, public protective actions including recreation area closed, disaster resistant community operations, the evacuation of visual and the hearing impaired residents. Additionally, joint land, sea, and aerial environmental radiation monitoring will be conducted by the Radiation Monitoring Center and the military staff.

To provide broader public access to the off-site exercises on September 11th, a live stream will be provided. Please visit the NSC’s official YouTube channel for more information.
